Mountain’s Edge developers realized the importance of outdoor recreational activity to the Las Vegas lifestyle, particularly for families. With this in mind, the community is planned around neighborhood parks, greenbelts, walking trails and a large regional park facility. An 80-acre park will be located near the entrance of Mountain’s Edge, while the 320-acre regional park will be centered on Arden Dome, a.k.a. Tennis Shoe Mountain. Trails are planned throughout the community, including some that wind up to the summit of the mountain.
The western theme of the community will be included in the park design as well. One park will include both an Old West-themed area and a Native American-themed area. Children will enjoy both the covered wagon-style play equipment and the teepee climbing structure.
The community has also been designed to conserve energy and water. The developer worked alongside water officials to find ways to make the community drought tolerant, without comprising the visual appeal. As a result, low-water usage plants were used for ground cover along roads and entries and turf areas are minimized.
For the full spectrum of entertainment, Mountain’s Edge residents need only drive a few minutes into the heart of Las Vegas. The famous Las Vegas Strip is known for nightlife, fine dining, shopping and of course, gambling. There are also many excellent performing arts shows and art exhibits to enjoy.
